Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to invite you to the 6th Congress of Asian Society for Pediatric Research (ASPR). Our Congress will take place from April 15 to 18, 2010 at the Taipei International Convention Center. We are excited that the ASPR will, joined by the Taiwan Pediatric Association and the Chang Gung Children's Hospital and Chang Gung University College of Medicine, be putting together a Congress that means so much for our children who make up 25% of Asia's four billion people.

Children are our greatest resource and asset, and preventing and curing childhood diseases represents a key to developing this resource to its full potential. Pediatric clinical research no longer just takes place in the U.S. and Europe. Here in Asia, we have begun to develop our own voices in addition to those of other professionals around the world who are working on behalf of our future generation. Pediatricians from around Asia are expected to attend this year's Congress, and it is our sincere hope that you too will be able to join us at this exciting Congress.

Advancing research efforts in childhood diseases, finding ways to determine the causes of these diseases and developing effective treatments -- is our common goal. The Congress we have organized for 2010 will be the right forum and the best platform for all of us interested in pediatric research to form closer ties with colleagues and peers from around the world in a concerted effort to achieve substantial progress in improving children's health and ensuring that our next generation lives a healthy and productive life.

I look forward to seeing you at this year's Congress and am confident that you will, along with the rest of us, benefit greatly from this opportunity to share ideas, exchange information and work toward our common goal.
